Galician Journal of Economics (GJE) / Revista Galega de Economía has launched a Call for Papers focused on Health Economics articles from a broad perspective. GJE is ranked in Q3 of the JCR 2025.
The guest editors of this special issue would like to encourage you to submit your work, which will be peer-reviewed under a double-blind system with full quality assurance and control. The acceptable topics for this special issue include:
· Studies on the direct, indirect, and social costs of prevalent or emerging diseases, essential for optimizing resource allocation.
· Systematic reviews and meta-analyses that identify gaps in the literature and consolidate evidence on healthcare interventions.
· Historical and territorial analyses of healthcare systems, linking structural transformations with the dynamics of supply and demand for healthcare services.
· Research on management models, efficiency, and economic evaluation in the public, private, or mixed provision of healthcare.
· The relationship between health, the environment, and sustainability, considering the health impacts of pollution, climate change, or working conditions.
· Health and wellness tourism, particularly relevant in regions with natural resources and healthcare infrastructure, such as Galicia.
· Legal-economic studies addressing regulatory frameworks that influence healthcare access, financing, and innovation.

The conference is to be held in Plymouth, United Kingdom, from the 27th to the 29th of May, 2026. It is being co-organized by the EWG-DSS (Euro Working Group on Decision Support Systems, https://ewgdss.wordpress.com/) and the University of Plymouth.
The central theme will be: "DSS to support sustainable and resilient transitions in the fast-changing world," which encompasses, among others, the fields of green, digital, social, labour, organizational, and supply chain transitions.

Professors Rafael Herrerías (Honorary Member of ASEPELT) and José-María Montero (President of ASEPELT) are launching a new initiative of the association:
Following negotiations with the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Granada, both professors reached an agreement with the Dean of the Faculty and representatives from the Department of Quantitative Methods to inaugurate the new initiative with a workshop on Economic and Business Modeling with R Software in the Field of Economics and Business. This event will take place at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Granada during November 2025.
Further information about this event will be provided as soon as possible. Naturally, all activities related to ASEPELT Training will be free of charge for individual members, as well as for members of institutional partners.
