We regret to inform you of the sad news of the death of Mr. José García Pérez, Professor Emeritus of the University of Almería and member for many years of the Executive Committee of ASEPELT.
José Garcia has been an Honorary Member of ASEPELT and director of the official journal of our Association, Studies in Applied Economics.

SIX has launched a global call for research proposals for financial economics academics and researchers on the topic Competitiveness of European public capital markets. Works may be submitted until June 28, 2024.
The objective of this call for research proposals is to evaluate the current state and factors affecting the competitiveness of European public capital markets in comparison to competing capital markets. SIX is looking for research articles that evaluate and propose concrete measures based on rigorous academic research results to strengthen the attractiveness and role of public capital markets in improving the growth potential of the European economy and its productivity.
Research proposals should clarify and provide detailed academic evidence on the causes that explain the current situation and patterns, necessarily including a comparative analysis with other capital markets. The investigation will also include robust measures that European markets and authorities must take to become more competitive. The proposal will focus on the primary (IPO, listing), secondary (trading) or both areas of the market.
